PostSubject: The Path of Never Turning Back.    Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:59 pm

Rin's form continued through the trees and forage as lifting her feet became much more of a chore than she previously remembered. A pause was given, as she stopped for a brief rest. Her chakra was still not recovered, and being on the move like this was not helping her situation. Pain still radiated from her arm, and it was nearly dizzying. But not so bad as it had been, the small amount of chakra she'd taken from the Kyuubi had allowed her to heal the fragmented bones only a little, it was still broken, and jarring it around wasn't helping her situation. As it was, she pressed on after a few moments. Had Aoiro said where Senko was? She couldn't remember. Or perhaps her mind was too muddled with the pain to care at the moment.

The fact of the matter was that, the opaque tressed female could not go back to Kirigakure. Not after taking the Kyuubi. Perhaps Rin could return later to gather her things, but ultimately she'd have to ensure that Kirigakure never saw her again. A gentle pant came from her mouth as she pushed forward, violet hues drawing to a close as her form leapt into a tree.

Another problem, was that Rin needed Senko. He was strong, she needed someone that was strong. She could learn from their strengths, and potentially manipulate them to do something for her. ...No, she needed him, and probably Aoiro as well. "God dammit.." She cursed softly as her form bounded to another tree. For now, she'd stay within the mountain range that bordered Kirigakure, for there were caves within it she could rest in for the time being. Her form slithered towards the base of a mountain, dreading the climb to come.

It took several minutes, but she made it to one of the lower caves, and it was dark, and that was always a bonus in her eyes. Dark meant that she was less likely to be seen. A few meters in, Rin set the jar down, and settled beside it, weariness overtaking her. However, it was not so great that she fell asleep instantly. Lithe hands came up to remove the headband from around her nck, and it was set aside, for she no longer belonged to Kirigakure. Only then did her form slump, curl itself around the jar, and she slept.

Sleep, while often a release, was not so courteous at times. Rin woke, startled, and pain lashed through her arm at the sudden movement, reminding her of why she had made the stop. The Med-nin had not slept for long, and weary violet hues turned towards the outside of the cave. Night would be upon the world soon, and her visage contorted in a mask of pain as movement was made. But, at least now, the female had chakra. That annoying pain that remained a dull throb for her body, was quickly silenced with the pass of an appendage imbued a soft green. The bone was finally repaired, and Rin shifted, removing the sling she had put it in, and placing it back into the pack that she had carried on her hip. A piece of jerky was consumed, and the med-nin stood, gathering the jar with the Kyuubi onto her back, shifting the Katana on her hip so that it might be more accessible and comfortable for the duration. A small pill popped into her waiting maw shortly after, and molars crunched it between them, giving the female a surge of chakra. The Kirigakure headband was left upon the floor of the cave, for it would prove of little use to her now.

Rin's thoughts turned inward as she cursed the limited chakra that the female contained, but as her feet carried her further up into the mountains, those thoughts turned to the tailed beast contained in the jar. If the med-nin could find a way to properly make use of the chakra that the Kyuubi offered, she would be more than capable of using the jutsu that which was desired.

An almost malicious grin was set onto her visage, however, it faded quickly at the realization that Rin knew very little of sealing techniques, and would require the assistance of others. Would Senko be appropriate in the one to track down? Unlikely, the man seemed to know little of many techniques aside from those few that Rin had been witness to. But perhaps...Her head shook. Ah, what was she going to do?

It took a good while for the genin to reach the mountains that bordered on the village of Kirigakure, but reach them she had managed, and the blond haired female paused just inside one of the lower caves to rest. However, it was noted that another had been there, and she gently scooped up the forgotten Mist headband that littered the floor. A frown of confusion marred her visage, before she gripped it tightly in her hand. Whoever had left it, was unlikely far away. Should she try to return it? Perhaps. But what if the person did not want it returned? Ah, decisions. Keiko tucked the headband into her pack anyway, just in case.

The Konoha nin was tired, but she pressed on. She'd reach the top of the mountain, she had decided to train there. She'd reach the top, and begin her training. Already she could feel her muscles grow stronger from simply the trek over the hills and terrain leading to, how weak was she? Keiko frowned as she climbed.

Rin had waited at the top of the mountain herself, unsure of where to go from that point forward. The bridges to the village were burned. If she wanted to, she could have returned to Kirigakure with the Kyuubi in the jar, but...did she want to? Not particularly. Rin needed the Kyuubi and the power it offered. Indecision wracked her, and the medic nin chose to perch at the top of the mountain, letting the cool air flutter against her flesh, the mist surrounding the very tip tops filled her lungs in beloved memory. Idle fingertips ran across the rim of the jar, still glowing with the concealed Bijuu within.

However, the faint threads of chakra that were felt, alerted Rin to the other on the mountain. The other, which was steadily approaching. She stood in a single, fluid movement, waiting...the chakra was not recognized. Could she afford to remain in the open? She however, did. Hands settling into a handsign, preparing a jutsu.

Keiko was panting by the time that she reached the top, and fingers curled over the edge as she hoisted herself to the slight flat ground. The area was twenty feet across and thirty feet wide, easily. However, the sight of another caused her to pause in mid-hoist. She took in the appearance of the white haired female, and the stance that the woman had taken....but her emerald hues immediately shifted to the jar that was beside the woman. It surged chakra, she could feel it, and Keiko was a shitty sensor.

But she continued her movement, bringing herself upon the slab of flat land. Keiko didn't know how to approach this woman, who stared at her with violet eyes, and so she offered a gentle wave of her hand.

Rin didn't hesitate when the woman launched herself over, and hues immediately caught sight of the Konoha headband that was around the woman's waist. Konoha had nearly beaten them to the Kyuubi. WAs this woman sent to retrieve it? A slender, opaque brow rose as her hand fell to the Katana on her hip, and she drew it slowly, hues never leaving the woman. Once the katana was free of it's sheathe, Rin surged forward, raising the weapon.

As she advanced on the woman, chakra pushed into the blade, making it appear to glow a soft green for a moment. She brought the sword down in a horizontal sweep towards Keiko.

Keiko threw up her hands when the woman started forward. "WAit, wait!" She flailed a little comically before pulling out the headband. "IS this yours, I think you dropped it, I found it a ways down?" But the woman still came. Keiko didn't hesitate when she saw the woman coming closer to throw herself off to the side, catching the edge of the rock with her fingers and instilling a bit of chakra into her fingers, she pushed further away, ducking below the blade, but only barely, as it scathed a few strands of hair from her head. The blonde pieces fell to the earth, no more than three or four strands, but a soft frown found her visage. Fine, if that was the way that the woman wanted it...Keiko threw her hands into a series of seals, and the blackness that had covered her body earlier, began to form once more, covering her forearms as she launched herself towards Rin. She was proficient at Taijutsu, and perhaps she could knock some sense into the woman.

Stupid. Rin chided the woman in her head. Taijutsu was Rin's best ability, aside from her medical arts. And when combined, they were a deadly force. The Katana was resheathed in a matter of seconds, and the hands of the med-nin began to glow with a soft green as the woman came at her. Instead of waiting, Rin surged forward, striking the first blow, a hand aimed right for Keiko's neck. To do this while having the chakra scalpel activated would ensure that the arteries would be severed, and Keiko would bleed internally until her death.

And no matter if this left Rin slightly open, so sure of her speed was she, that Rin was not concerned.

Whoa, fast. Keiko had not been expecting the speed of the woman. But the green chakra alerted her to something. The woman was a medic-ninja. Keiko's confidence boosted a bit, and as the woman reached out to hit her neck, her own, dark hand snaked out and caught the edge of Rin's wrist, or at least, she hoped she did. And it was only a moment later when her own hand moved towards Rin's mid-section. If she hit her with the strength and current speed she was moving out, and it would be likely to break a few ribs, at the very least, that was, if Rin didn't have something up her sleeve.

Keiko was hoping that she hit, maybe it would cause the woman to pause.

Rin didn't even hesitate when her wrist was grabbed, instead, she allowed it, and used the momentum to shift her body only slightly to the right. While it would strain the wrist in Rin's arm, it would deflect the hand that had aimed for her midsection, by any means. As the hand of the other woman extended, Rin snapped her own right hand forward, flicking it in the barest of movements against the woman's wrist. The scalpel of chakra would sever the tendons and render that hand useless when it cut through the muscles and the like. The bone would remain intact, but it was highly likely that Keiko would be able to perform hand seals.

And even with the armor of Earth that covered the arm, it would not stop the chakra scalpel if it did connect, for there was still flesh beneath that hardened exterior.

Keiko was surprised at the fact that the med-nin would be so willing to injure herself, just to get at her. But it was too late, the momentum of her fist could not be stopped, and she recognized that the woman's speed was greater than her own. How was she so weak?! Med-nin were not known for their physical prowess, nor were they known for their battle prowess, they were healers, simple as that. But Keiko came to understand quickly, just how deadly a med-nin could be. When the laceration of her tendons happened, and the muscles, she felt her arm go weak. And despite the Earth covering, the chakra cut deeper than Earth, it was intended for flesh afterall. The darkness on the injured arm retreated, and the genin quickly stepped back, releasing her hold on Rin's arm, and she winced as she grasped ahold of her own wrist, the pain was excruciating. Never could she understand how much pain could be inflicted by just that small movement...

As soon as her wrist was let go of, Rin moved to grasp ahold of the long tresses of hair that the blond woman had, and immediately her fingers curled into it, so that even when Keiko moved to step back, Rin went with her. A quick jerk of the hair, and the woman would have been slung forward ahead of Rin, who procured a kunai from the pouch at her hip, twirling it in her right hand for a brief moment, before resting it at Keiko's neck. The one thing that the Konoha nin had seemed to forget, was that while she was doubled over in pain, Rin was not, and her brain was working quite well, thank you. The Chakra threads activated in Rin's hand, for they needed no hand seals, and she sucked chakra from the woman as long as she had contact.

Keiko yelped as her hair was grabbed and she was swung, but she didn't even have time to contemplate. Her hand rose to tug at Rin's hand as it held fast into her hair, bu to no avail. The pain was too great, focus was lost upon her, and she struggled weakly before offering a gentle sniff. Why wasn't she strong enough? This woman was ...she didn't even know, but the battle had been too easy. But had it been? Keiko had very little experience in fighting another, for she mostly trained alone. "I'm sorry, Shinn-sensei..."

As the woman spoke her words, the kunai held in Rin's hand lurched forward and then back, severing the artery in the neck, and the windpipe of the Konoha nin. There was no mercy on her visage when the woman struggled, and she held fast onto the hair, as the body twitched and writhed in it's last moments. As life fluttered from the woman's eyes, Rin offered a gentle snort. "Garbage.." Was all she said, before releasing the body finally, allowing it to slump to the ground. It was a simple motion then, of kicking it off the edge of the plateau she had been upon, watching it in mild amusement as it careened down the side of the mountain, likely all the way to the bottom, though far more damaged than when she had taken it's life.

A flexing of her wrist was given, and she returned to the Kyuubi jar, huffing softly as she sat atop of it.

Rin shifted atop the jar, sighing heavily. She couldn't very well stay at the top of the mountain forever, so with a resigned glance around, she picked up the kyuubi jar, placing it upon her back once more. A moment of hesitation was given, when her fingers grasped the headband that had settled on the edge of the cliff, and she eyed it for a moment. Afterall, it was her own, before calming placing it in her bag. Might as well keep it, it might serve some purpose. Her form began it's descent.

Once Rin was at the bottom of the mountain, her form turned towards Otogakure. ...Where else would she go? Oto had far more mountains and the landscape was treacherous, for Rin to go anywhere, that would likely be the last place anyone would go looking for her in. However, carrying the Kyuubi was likely to draw attention. She needed to find someone that could seal the creature inside of her...and quickly. Even at that, she would draw attention, but alas, such was the way of things.
